My Story

I share my story to show you that you’re much closer to leveling up as a coach than you think. It also illustrates the reality that my coaching and education is rooted in not only objective, physiological principles, but subjective experiences from putting myself through the wringer both physically and mentally.

Let’s start in college. I was an infielder converted pitcher in my freshman fall of 2017. I was throwing 75mph. Awful.

I was then diagnosed as Type 1 Diabetic 12/27/17. I was 151lbs in the hospital, and hospitalized with a blood sugar of 563mg/dl, nearly 7x the normal level.

That season, I won Rookie of the Year, made 1st Team All Conference, and posted the second best batting average allowed in America across all 3 divisions of NCAA Baseball. I ultimately made 1st Team All Conference a second time in 2021 and took my fastball from 75 to 93mph over a 4 year span. Never had a strength coach. Never had an injury.

I originally wanted to be a physical therapist and quickly learned I wanted something more.

I wanted to prepare athletes better so I went the S&C route. COVID ended my junior season. I found myself at TCU in Fort Worth, TX for my first S&C internship that summer.

I followed that up with an internship in my home state of New Jersey that winter. I was hired full time by the same facility where I started coaching after I graduated in May of 2021.

I worked in New Jersey until Christmas Eve, 2021, before taking a job with the Kansas City Royals. It was part time in Arizona because I didn’t have enough experience for full season affiliate. 3 weeks in, they gave me the full time role at the full-season affiliate.

Pedulla Performance was a vision that manifested itself as an official LLC in October 2022.

In July 2023, I got a phone call about the OU job. I Interviewed on a Wednesday and had the job by Monday 5 days later where I had the honor of being part of the 4-peat with OU Softball.

I am motivated by the image of my former self and your ambition and I’m just getting started.
